CHARACTER
Character Name: Isabel Evans
Character Age: 18
Canon: Roswell
Canon Point: Directly after the episode “Harvest”
World Description: Originally, Isabel comes from Roswell, New Mexico in 1999. Her CRAU involves her coming from dystopian France where people live in silent communities because the world is overrun with monsters that are attracted to sound.
History: http://roswell.wikia.com/wiki/Isabel_Evans
Personality: Strong – From the very beginning of the series, Isabel is shown to be one of the strongest characters. Of the three original aliens living in Roswell, she is the one who has the best formed sense of herself and she doesn’t compromise that for anyone, even if her brother Max is their unofficial leader from the start. She is the backbone of their family and it’s suggested that when they were younger and Michael, another of the aliens, had any kind of trouble with his foster family he went to Isabel.
Social – For as acidic as Isabel’s wit can be, she knows when to turn it off and when to be social. Of the aliens living in Roswell, she is the one who has embraced a human life the most gracefully. When it comes to Christmas pageants and pictures with Santa, Isabel is the one to organize the events. Older citizens of the city practically bow before her organizational skills. Her friends are a little less appreciative, having given her the nickname the Christmas Nazi as when that time rolls around it’s her way or no way at all. She is also very social at school, having no trouble at all fitting in with the most popular crowd and taking on coveted positions in extracurriculars.
Loyal – In Isabel’s past life, the alien whose DNA she is made of was a horrible traitor to her people, and that haunts her, but Isabel is incredibly loyal to her friends and family, alien and human alike. She would do anything to protect them and takes keeping promises very seriously.
Cold – While it isn’t true all of the time, Isabel can be a very cold person some of the time. The truth is that it’s a defense mechanism that she’s developed. When she ices over, she doesn’t have to let people in. When she doesn’t have to let people in, she doesn’t have to explain the more bizarre things about herself to them. However, this changed the day her brother brazenly used his healing ability on his dying crush to save her life. It kind of put their secret in the open to a whole crowd of humans their age and allowed her to open up a little. It taught her to be a little warmer with people, even people she could never truly let in in that way.
Intelligent – In her junior year of high school, Isabel was eligible to graduate from high school and was accepted to a few colleges. The only reason she didn’t go was that her brother had taken an official leadership position of their group and forbid it, insisting they all stay together. She hated it, of course, and still graduated early, but didn’t go off to college like she’d wanted. The point is, though, she could have.
After her CRAU – Her time in Reims has affected her in some ways. For one, she was forced by a character with mind control to do something she swore she would never do – Enter and influence someone’s dreams in a way that might hurt them. Now she regards herself with a slight sense of disgust. That same man caused her to do something that almost killed her, which scared her so much that she decided being allies with him was better than being enemies. Her world is so messed up right now that she doesn’t know what’s up or what’s down anymore. She still holds true to her ideals and would protect her friends no matter what, but this strong young woman is just a touch more gunshy.
Inventory: IIn a duffle bag… A collection of about ten CD’s from the late 90’s-early 2000’s, a few books that are either self-help or related to the fashion industry, a makeup palette, a box of sugar packets, and a huge bottle of Tabasco.
Abilities: Leptogenesis – The ability to manipulate the molecular structure. This sounds impressive, but like I said, her powers are relatively weak. She uses it to change the image on one dollar bills to hundreds, straighten her hair without an iron, and change the color of her nail polish. Relatively insignificant things.
Dreamwalking – Isabel can enter dreams. Sometimes she sits back and watches, sometimes she interacts. When she has a very strong connection with someone, like her brother, she is able to enter their mind while they are between waking and dreaming.
Telekinesis – a weak ability to move things with her mind
Technopathy – Isabel can operate electrical technology and other things on her own. She’s been shown coaxing machines back into operation and MANY times she’s been shown to be able to play CD’s without a CD player. She can do this so a room can hear the music or so that it can play silently for her, as a kind of mental ‘walkman’.
Isabel is also excellent at organizing things. She is decent in the kitchen. She’s smart for a teenager. She’s an expert at corralling children, too.
Flaws: Isabel is borderline vain. At the start of the series she’s a bit of a maneater who isn’t afraid of using her wiles to get her way. That has mellowed by this point, but is definitely still present in her personality. In the series, she is shown as displaying her vanity in the first season and being willing to exploit her good looks as a distraction or mechanism to execute a plan. She doesn’t like to be caged in or even led and can rebel when anyone tries to lead her or provide instruction without her consent. In the same vein, she is very controlling when she is the leader in any particular situation. A great example of this is the holiday Christmas. The tree has to be a certain height with a certain foliage density. The carolers have to be dressed a certain way. Christmas dinner has to be composed by certain particular dishes. The list goes on. Also, she has a lot of baggage that makes her somewhat angsty. She knows that her alien DNA comes from a woman on another planet who betrayed her brother and fiancé and started a war. Even though she isn’t technically that woman, she carries around a lot of guilt just knowing about it. This guilt has interfered with her relationships with her friends. They certainly don’t hold the sins of her past life against her, but as long as she feels guilty there will always be tension between them, a sort of unspoken metaphorical wall that she refuses to let down because she refuses to deal with her own guilt.
CR AU
Previous Game and Time: The Quiet Place March - April 2018
Previous Development: Going into the game, Isabel was fierce. No one should have messed with her or tried to manipulate her. She made a tragic mistake in trusting the wrong person and he exploited her ability through mind control which really messed with her head. Isabel took to reading self-help books immediately and tried to confront him which almost resulted in her death and just frightened her further. Isabel has become a more cautious individual and more tentative when it comes to branching out. She's more likely to listen to warnings about people and more likely to seek out allies whereas she was very independent before.

Action Log Sample: Lately, it seemed that Isabel didn’t get much time to herself. It was always a group of her, her brother, and their friends clustered together either in the jeep or Maria’s broken down Jetta, heading to someone important or dangerous, though the two were not mutually exclusive. Things had been turned upside down since Nasedo’s death. Though her brother Max had king’s blood in his veins, Nasedo was the one they all took direction from. Without him, it often felt like they were lost, vulnerable, and fending for themselves.
Isabel sat at home on the edge of her bed. They’d managed to escape the skins and make it home safely. What was left? A lot of silence and time to reflect on everything Nicholas had told her. The picture of her life on Antar was becoming clearer. Last summer all she’d known was that she was royalty, the king’s sister who was meant to wed his trusty military leader. It was a nice image so long as she was left with the liberty to fill in the blanks on her own, but now there were others filling in those blanks for her, and it wasn’t the story she’d wanted to hear.
Cupping her face in her hands, Isabel sighed. She looked up across the room at her reflection in her vanity mirror. Who was she anymore? Congresswoman Whitaker had been the first to tell her. She’d been Vilandra, beautiful and duplicitous. While a war was in its infant stages, Vilandra had been the one to tip the scales and betray her brother, the king, and also her betrothed.
It was something she could never imagine herself doing. Max was annoying at times as little brothers often were, but he was family. Living with a secret as large as theirs had pulled the two together – Two teenagers, aliens, living under a roof with adoptive human parents who had no idea their children were any different from the majority of children in Roswell. Isabel could never betray someone after sharing a bond, a closeness like that.
With a shake of her head, she let herself fall back onto the mattress, long, denim-clad legs dangling off of the bed. Before Nasedo died, Isabel could have imagined sharing something like this story of her past life with Max, but it seemed that, as of late, her brother was changing. Max knew that he was meant to be king. Maybe not on Earth, but somewhere, and as long as he had that destiny he would keep assuming that he had the final say when it came to matters with Isabel and the other hybrids. It was almost funny. Their identities as aliens, the factor that had once brought them closer together, now set them drifting apart like balls on a pool table.
Too bad. Isabel could have dealt with a little support, even if she never would have asked for it.
After a few seconds just lying there, she did what she always did. Isabel Evans pulled herself together. Sitting up, she got up off of her bed and sat down at her vanity. She took a long look at herself before making any adjustments to her appearance, but they would come. Nothing short of perfection would do if Isabel was to step out that bedroom door again. She ran a hand over her hair and suddenly the slight waves in it were straightened and all frizz was eliminated, a perk of being inhuman. Makeup was refreshed, perfume was spritzed, and another long stare was given at that reflection. There was definite dissatisfaction, but she knew it wasn’t with her appearance. How long would it be before she forgave herself for things she personally hadn’t even done?
